Currently writing this at 37 weeks pregnant! I quickly learned that there are SO many resources out there for pregnant women. There is a website, book, YouTube channel or social media account for everything pregnancy. I love reading and finding a few quality books was really important to me. Here are three books that I really enjoyed throughout my pregnancy journey.
1. Real Food for Pregnancy by Lily Nichols
In Real Food for Pregnancy, you will get clear answers on what to eat and why, with research to back up every recommendation. Author and specialist in prenatal nutrition, Lily Nichols, RDN, CDE, has taken a long and hard look at the science and discovered a wide gap between current prenatal nutrition recommendations and what foods are required for optimal health in pregnancy and for your baby’s development. Her website is full of free, science-driven blog posts that are top-notch!
2. The Mama Natural by Genevieve Howland
I LOVED this book because it has a week-by-week guide to pregnancy and childbirth from a natural perspective. The book offers great recipes, too! 3. Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin
Ina May Gaskin is a midwife who shares the benefits and joys of natural childbirth by showing women how to trust in the ancient wisdom of their bodies for a healthy and fulfilling birthing experience. Her book was so beautiful and truly made me realize how absolutely magical childbirth is.
